Narrowing Flute!!

Narrowing Flute!!

Berthold Auerbach, the great poet, had once said “Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life”. And musical instruments are responsible for this eternal truth. Flute is one of the ancient musical instrument know to the world. Over ages the instrument has evolved from a narrow bamboo pipe with circular holes on it to a sophisticated mechanical system made of metal. The close placement of 17-18 buttons on the pipe with the lustrous metallic finish gave it a complicated and yet attractive look. I am so thrilled to see this 3-4 feet long metallic pipe producing such beautiful melody.

The picture is qlikd in the SCN (Special Screen) mode selecting the Night Scene option where the Shutter Speed is slow. The macro mode option was kept on to get the enlarged view of the closer buttons. The instrument was placed in a dark room and I had used my camera cell phone flash as the source of light. In the photoshop, I have used the Render/ Flood Light option to add more light towards the right top corner of the picture. Since only the right section of the image is focused, the Unsharp Mask option is used to sharpen the left side a little. The Unsharp Mask option is used at 100%/10 pixels/5 levels. The midtones of the picture were set at 1.15 in the levels option leaving the shadows and highlights at 0 and 255 respectively to ensure no loss of detailing.
